Pataan

Adventure is worthwhile. ~Aristotle

Finally had the motivation to post this one.

This was last Holy Week (March 25th 2016) when me and Shierra decided to do some adventurous journey. With the help of Google Map and some information taken on the internet, we decided that our next travel journey would be on the magical land called PATAAN. With 500 pesos on each of our pockets('cause we're poor), we started our bahala na si batman adventure.

Going there was no joke. Since we don't have any car (because as I have said, we are pooorrrr), the best option, or shall we say the ONLY option for us is via public transportation. We start off at 8am by riding in a mini bus going to Ma-ao, Bago City. I think it took us two hours ride going to Ma-ao because the bus kept on stopping by and by picking up and unloading passengers.

When we reached the Ma-ao terminal going to Pataan, we asked the locals for any available transportation that wold take us up the Pataan Resort. There are motorcycles lining up and as if everyone was just staring at us. We don't know, I think we have this foreigner vibes,lol...

We just hopped in the motorcyle without even asking for the fare! I was expecting it to be a bit pricey because the road going up is very, very, very rough and dangerous. As we traveled up the long, winding, rocky road, Shierra and I kept on looking at each other thinking, "What have we done?", "Should we back out?", "This is insane." because we noticed we are the only vehicle going up that place.

But all those worries were gone when we finally saw from afar the little white house  up the peek of the mountain. "Look she, that's it! I saw that on pictures! That's the place! Finally we've reached it!  Lezz go!"

We contracted the motorcyle driver that he'll be also the one to take us down back in town at around 4pm. He charged us 300 pesos back and forth, and that includes the two of us. I think it was a reasonable price due to the fact that going up there was a total challenge and needs a really great driver to tackle those rough roads. So, good job kuya for keeping us safe!

Entrance to the resort is 50 pesos. Not bad actually. The staffs asked us if we want to rent a cottage and we told them, "Nah, we just wanna take some photos and dip in the waterfall." (But the truth is that we have no moneyyyyyy). And we made our way up where the beautiful waterfall awaits us.

On the right side is a staircase is used as a trail guide going up the waterfall.. DO NOT ever go on the left side to went up the falls or you'll end up with bruises!

On our 2nd hike up the waterfall, we went on the left side trail, or no trail at all, we just decided to take the path up this way for a change of view and end up getting bruised by sharp rocks. :(

By far this is our most adventurous adventure. Indeed Adventure is worthwhile.
